Are you interested in learning about a topic in more depth? Register for one of our See You In Class programs. Classes are offered in the spring and fall and are held over the course of two to four Thursday evenings in the Harry M. Bluford Classroom. Topics range from early Virginia to modern-day politics.
Follow a VHS staff member on an journey into the VHS collection and uncover the stories behind objects not routinely on display in our museum exhibits. Each 90-minute program begins with a search through collection storage as your guide demonstrates how we find a single object among the more than 9 million items in our collection.
During the spring and fall, the VHS offers our members monthly bus trips to historic sites and museums. Our day-long bus trips leave Richmond in the morning and travel to places such a Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, art museums, private homes, and many more exciting locations across the commonwealth. You will be led by VHS staff members and experienced tour guides, who will not only inform you about history but also make sure you have fun. Lunches and snacks are provided on each trip.
